Like all Arri cameras the 16 SR 2 incorporates the Arri pin register film movement. It is sync at 24 and 25fps. The SR 2 cameras are slightly quieter running than the SR 1 cameras.

Easy to handhold and the batteries are 'on board'. 15mm lightweight support bars can be used for accessories such as matte boxes or follow focus. Magazines are snap on and can be changed in seconds. This particular Arri SR2 also has the internal lightmeter fitted.

The Arri SR 3 advanced camera is a huge step forward from its predecessor. The camera has a brighter viewfinder, variable shutter angle, timecode and on board precision speed control to name just a few features.

The camera can be switched from 16mm to super 16 operating modes and back again quickly and simply. The SR3 advanced also has sapphire rollers in the gate which reduces film dust and enhances image steadiness..

The control panel and LCD display on the left hand side of the camera clearly shows information on all adjusted settings, frame rates, film counter (switchable to feet or meters), the opening sector of the mirror shutter, time code user bits, time code sensitivity readout, battery voltage with low battery warning, film end and asynchronous camera speed.

The viewfinder is significantlly brighter than the previous SR3 version, Arri claim a three quarter of a stop increase. The viewfinder also incoperates the Arriglow system which illuminates format markings making filming easier in lower light. The viewfinder also has warning indications for film end, low battery and asynchronous camera speed. A switchable magnification is available in the viewfinder extension.

Time code is the key to modern methods of electronic post production. As a linking element between film and digital technology it is integrated into the Arri SR 3 Advanced. The recording module is located in the magazine, where also the timecode sensitivity is adjusted. The 80 bit timcode fully complies with the SMPTE RP 114 standard.

This particular SR 3 advanced camera is also fitted with a modular handle video assist with a B+W CCD camera.
